I think that the person does not understand online civility. People go online to seek support with issues--including care for themselves/friends-relatives with disabilities. This leads to comments which (hopefully) would not be said in real life.

Her objective is probably to get attention for herself and her child. She is either of limited intelligence or has other problems going on for her to commit, what is too most of us, a horrendous social gaffe. Personally, I would ignore it. If she can do something this unintelligent, then will she really understand what you are trying to tell her? The only reason I would address it is if she was a close friend and I consider important to discuss feelings with close friends, when it is that bad. Or, you could do what Jesus would have done. Go to her website and overwhelm her with positive about her child. Her child also deserves praise and mom NEEDS it. Did you ever read the Hungry Thing when you were a kid? There was this monster sitting in the middle of the village and people hated it and cursed it. The more they hated and cursed it, the bigger and more hateful it got. Then one day a stranger came to the village and began to say kind things and to feed the monster. The monster got smaller and smaller each time it was praised, until it became quite jolly and a member of the town.
