How intense is your exercise? Have a bit of protein before some during and again after. Not full meals but enough to get and keep you going. If we are talking about a easy bike ride or a walk eat when you feel comfortable. It probably would not be before as any exercise may not feel comfortable after a full meal. Listen to your body if you do better eating after then eat after if you do better eating before a workout then eat prior. May also have to do with when you exercise. If you exercise at 5 or 6 am your meal will be different than if you are exercising at 8 pm.

I would say both, kind of. If it is the first meal of the day (morning workout) have a banana before and then your meal after.

AFTER, but it's always a good idea to have a little protein or carbs before a workout. A SNACK but not a meal.

Usually after. Though it's not good to exercise if you are terribly hungry either. I usually exercise no sooner than three hours after eating. The bigger the meal, the longer I wait. It's also depends how rigorous your exercise will be as well.

After for sure. I am a serious athlete, and if I eat too close to before exercising, I find myself vomiting violently. If the exercise is like bowling or skiing, it doesn't matter.

Have a SMALL, light snack before working out. Wait an hour afterwards, then eat normally or larger meals.
