Green tea isn't bitter unless you let it steep too long. Two minutes should be more than enough if you douse the bag a couple of times, then squeeze it. Caffeine doesn't affect the flavor, and even caffeinated green tea has less than a quarter of the caffeine in a cup of coffee. Green tea is the most consumed beverage in the world after water. So you are far from alone in enjoying the flavor.

it is an acuired taste. much like ones taste for alcoholic beverages or for coffee. you need to drink it over and over again for it to appeal to the taste buds.
