Obviously people want to help those who are in need. It is the definition of charity. You organize to amplify your efforts to help and you goal is not to make a profit in doing so. Volunteers step out of their societal roles to lend their efforts to help as they see the need. Really pretty clear and certainly understandable that people want to do good.
