I would recommend the Panasonic. It is the most reliable tv in the market today. Sony quality and realiability has not been that good. Personally I never had a Sony product that have lasted me more than 3 years. My last Sony purchase was a 34" HDTV CRT, the first one in the market for a price of $6,400. At the moment I have 4 Panasonic Plasma (65", 60", 58" and 50" with the 58" from 2005) tv and 3 LCD (32" purchased 2 years ago and 3 LED (32" just purchased this month). Hope this will help you out.
