I have used etrade and scottrade for several years, starting around 16 years old. Both are pretty straight forward and have nice customer service if you ever need it. As far as educating yourself about investing, I highly suggest reading Ben Grahms "The Intelligent Investor" and maybe taking an intro Finance course.

I would not invest any amount less than $1,000, as trading fees will quickly eat up your profits. You will need to find an online broker.
