That stands for Potentially Unwanted Program. Not necessarily viruses. Like most AVs malwarebytes holds them in quarantine. You can delete them if they are unknown programs. What you get with the paid version is realtime monitoring of these and malicious website blocking.

Potentially Unwanted Programs or PUP - I would delete them. But that doesn't mean they are actually viral in nature. These could be tool bars and some people might want to keep them on their system, so they give you an opportunity to decide.
