All sorts of food! There's no one type of food except for the wedding cake that appears at all weddings in the US or UK. Most people just serve what they think will be pleasing and affordable for their guests. That can be anything from hamburgers to filet mignon, from a buffet dinner with a variety of food to a sit-down dinner with a fixed menu. It's up to the bride and groom what is served--there's no tradition that applies to all weddings.

Yeah there really is only one traditional food item served at weddings and that's the cake. Everything else is dependent on budget, taste preference, location and theme. *My friend and her husband did things really cheap for their wedding. Most of the food was provided by the guests to help save them money. And we didn't even serve food at mine. Just cake and champagne.
