with my filter coffee machine i use any coffee i find and i'm very happy with it however if your machine is somehow different i'd read the instructions even if i think they just want you to buy the expensive stuff

Almost any kind of good ground coffee. Experiment with the different types until you find the one you like.

Putting instant coffee in a drip machine is a waste of both. Find a ground coffee that you like and experiment with how strong you like it. Use unbleached filters if you can find them and if the water is not softened, clean it with vinegar every couple of months.
