Pay THIS MONTH £40000 - that is in month 9 - so the system presumes further earnings to come this year. Allowances are spread over the year - so allowances UP TO month 9 are given but not the remaining 3 months. You are using an IN YEAR calculator to make an end of year calculation. Try it on month 12. National Insurance is calculated week or month at a time - are you trying to work out the tax and NI for a parson on £40000 per year? You need to get clear if this is a one of or a whole year -
