Vacuum leak ... Or gas pedal cable might be loose

If it's a manual transmission, with over 200k miles, it's quite possible that your clutch is worn out and needs replacement. Find a good mechanic and have it checked.

I agree with above. .. manual trans could be the clutch but if automatic most likely a fried clutch pack out band....

Sounds like a bad purchase to me. I would not buy any vehicle with over 200k miles. It's pretty much on it's last legs. It probably gonna start needing a ton a repairs.
