It's safer than two feet. There's less chance of accidentally stepping on the gas, or simultaneously stepping on both. Also, you won't be riding the brake and you won't fail a driving test.

All good reasons. Another is that if you drive a manual transmission from time to time or in the past you use your left foot for the clutch. If you are faced with a sudden situation where you needed to stop quickly its a possibility you may momentarily forget your driving an automatic and slam you left foot on the brake as if going for the clutch which could obviously lock your brakes and cause you to loose control.
