I think childishness has to do with selfishness. When you are a child you depend on others for your needs. As an adult you should have learned by now that life isn't all about you and what you want and you should be providing for yourself and others. If you're an adult and still living only for yourself while still depending on others you are childish. I think being childlike is about having trust and faith and being humble and not proud thinking you have it all figured out.
