No one needs your permission to give them to you. You need not keep them in order to be served. Most things need not be handed to you personally. Almost any sorts of legal papers can be served by leaving them at your home.

That would be useless. The other party only have to prove that they did all the reasonable efforts to serve you. It doesn't matter if you were cooperative or not. If you don't show up in court, the other party would win by default.

You can't refuse the service. If the papers have been served in accordance with the law, you HAVE been served and you need to comply. Ignoring court only makes it worse for YOU! Fix the problem by going through the process.
