Open it to have a look, you will have to open it anyway to change it. They usually just prise apart.

Do as rabbrab says but put battery back as soon as you read battery number on it. Sometimes if you leave battery out the key fob needs to be reprogrammed.

They usually use CR2032's.

Your fob will have a 3v Lithium battery in it usually a CR2032, CR2016, or CR2025. Your handbook will tell you, or simply look at it. When you have identified it, DO NOT buy it from a Peugeot dealer, They will charge you £6 -£7 for what a hardware shop will charge about £1.99 - £2.50.
