because you dont have will to study and more likely to play around, or find a mate.

I think that it's because when you're in college you're on your own. All your life someone was directing. There was a time for you to do work, study, wake up, go to practice, and etc. On the other hand you're in college. You have to discipline yourself. A lot of people, especially young people lack self discipline.

In my case, it was depression. I could't focus, concentrate, or remember. After I took time off and got help, I was able to return and make Dean's List. My nephew discovered when he got to an Ivy League school were everyone was bright that he had to work harder. It may be a matter of learning how to organize your studies, getting better study skills or being able to read faster. Talk to the counseling center on campus to see what you need to do to adjust to college learning, so you can enjoy it.
