Advantage: It's loaded with iron and B vitamins. Disadvantage: Looks like a giant blood clot rendering it inedible.

I don't really know of any disadvantage although the vegans and vegetarians out there can probably come up with hundreds if not thousands. One advantage I know of is that it is very high in iron which would make it very good particularly for women who are having their period.

I bit my lip chewing on once, but other than that, I don't know. Advantage is it is cheap! Probably not good to eat ONLY liver, but then again, not good to eat only "anything."
