One really sweet law in France is that every letter to Santa Claus is to be responded to with a postcard. I wish EVERYONE had that law. (It is, after all, Santa Claus' birthday!)

i live in france and honestly the answers above are nothing like it it now...yes if you want to do old traditions then what people have said is good..but its pretty much the same as every where else..they don't have a turkey they eat seafood..they are not big on hanging christmas lights on their homes..and their are no christmas for foods and treats we eat macarons.. truffles.. churros..nougat..bûche de noël french are big on luxury food they only eat the good stuff! :)
