Make sure there's a small hole in the bottom of the cup for drainage, and make one if necessary. Fill with soil to within 1/2" of the top. Push the bean about 1/2" deep in the soil (you can plant three if you like, but snip all but the strongest off at soil level if they all germinate). Water, and place in a warm spot; the top of the fridge is good. Light isn't necessary until the bean germinates, which should be about a week. It will need at least six hours of sunlight daily after it sprouts. Good luck! VCE Master Gardener
