The importance of listing what vehicle we are talking about whether Manuel trans or automatic. Makes a big different Can't diagnose what I can't see I suggest you take it to a shop I can say it sound like a clutch but clutches or only in cars with a Manuel transmission. Re ask the question with required info make model year hope it helps Lr

make and model of the car/truck would help but if a slip either low on fluid or internal problem with the transmission. find local shop at ATRA.COM for more help

But I'm usually going about 20 mph in 1st gear, ... from the wheelie makes my brain totally forget about it for a while second, ... 35-40mph in 2nd gear.
