"My new job need me to buy $8,000+ worth of tools. " That's not a job, that's a business ripping you off. What tools are they requiring you to buy ? Mechanics who work for a auto repair shop are often required to own their own tools, but all the necessary tools can be purchased for less than $1000.00 from hardware stores. "The making more is not entirely in my realm of control." Get away from those people. Take the other job. When you have to drive 34 miles to get to that "new job", you will be spending over $75.00 a week extra for the gas to drive that extra distance. Go with the financial security first; you have debts to pay. And with 40 hours of work each week you will learn more faster than at the other job.
