in ny, you will not be eligible. you should still apply though just in case it is different by you.

Nope, you didn't work the minimum number of hours to qualify for E.I. In your province you have to work a minimum of 665 hours to qualify for E.I., plus being let go (fired) is one of the things they frown on and will deny most claims.
