I would try a place where you could only move in one direction but the chains take a while

Get a pokemon with the ability "Suction Cups", such as Octillery, to increase the chance of fishing a pokemon. Find a spot to fish in, once you have started chaining, DO NOT move from that spot. Doing so will break your chain. Continue fishing without failing and you'll find a shiny eventually. If you don't lure one in successfully, your chain will break. If a pokemon doesn't grab your bait, your chain will break. If you move spot, your chain will break. Take notice of this. Do not catch any of the pokemon during the chain, this will also break your chain. You can run or faint a pokemon in the chain, though. I suggest you set your fishing rod as a key item. Good luck!!

Serious question: why don't people want these? I see in many quick trade threads "I want a shiny for shiny, no fish" or something roughly equivalent.
