Facebook have some problems with its chat bar. I heard about this problem from many people. At first i think it is because of any internet connectivity problem. But even some high speed broadband users face same kind of problem. FB trying to fix the error. But there was not any official announcement how much they are recovered from this problem. My suggestion will be to report it to facebok. How? Login through your account details. After that click on the setting tab from the top-right corner. Click on Report a Problem Tab. Write about the problem in details and send it.

This may be caused if they log off and then log-in again. May also be caused by snappy net connections. Instead of going to archived... You can directly enter their name in the text box in the chat bar... Their names will be displayed.. Click on it and You can send them a msg directly without going to inbox..
