That is life, often not very unfair. Perhaps you can get a new advisor? If not, go back and take this as a life lesson learned.

You really have no choice. No job or funding project is guaranteed. Be thankful for the experience you gained and go find a real job! Good Luck

You adviser should work with you better. But, yes, anyone who reads your entire note can tell you are a non-native speaker and have problems with English communications. I would have never thought you were a PhD candidate until you told us at the end of the note. A J1 visa does not allow you only to work at a university, Most international internships are done on a J1 visa. F1 visa's allow you only to work at the university. However, it is unlikely that you would get your J1 visa transferred to another business/university. If he transfers the funding and you no longer have an opportunity, you will have to leave. Leaving was the plan all a long so this is not a new problem.
