Maybe you should see your doctor.It could be something more serious that you are not paying attention to.Having severe pain is not a good thing for the joints.You may later end up with arthritis which is painful too.

Cold Compression therapy will really help. Heat will only give you temporary relief at the time of treatment. Keeping cold on it for long periods of time will really help the pain and any inflammation. check out the wraps at the link below. They work great for all athletes.
