No. But, if you look at your bill, only part of the cost is for the actual power. There are many costs simply because you exist. E.g. my last bill was $183.39. Only 149.09 was for the power used - the rest was a whole litany of other charges, fees, and so on. When I lived in Kingston, Ontario, an electrical engineer wanted to prove a point about conservation. He basically stopped using electricity for anything but critical things. His bill barely changed. He was trying to show that it was not the electricity charge that makes the bill high, but, everything else. He was right.
