nope, high end laptops (3000$+) still cant compete with 900$ desktops (budget gaming)

The desktop is not dead. Nor is it going to die in the near future. Mobile devices and smartphones will continue to play a significant part in the world of computing but would never replace the desktop. Especially as far as computing in the enterprise is concerned. However I think what would change is the way we use the Desktop. Cloud computing is going to hugely influence the role of the Desktop in both our daily lives and at work.
