I don't really know it depends on what u use it for. If u use it for gaming then yes. But if u use it for web then no.

No, if you got the first gen iPad mini just a month ago, there's no need to get version 2 with Retina. The older iPad mini works just fine and should last you at least for the next 2-3 years. However, I recommend that you upgrade the software on your iPad mini to iOS 7 if you haven't already done so.
