If you are talking about the center turn lane. Many people turn into it to either wait for traffic to thin, or to accelerate to speed before entering the actual travel lanes. Unfortunately if you have an accident while in that lane, you will be found at fault. The only use for the center turn lane according to law is to slow and wait for opposing traffic to cease so that you can make the turn away from the road safely. It is NOT an entrance lane.
