You usually have your parents create a diploma for you when they decide you can graduate. The affidavit just tells the state that your parents graduated you instead of a regular school. You do not have to get your GED. Some colleges have different procedure for homeschool applicants but they are not looked down upon.

You need to check with the college. Homeschool diplomas are just fine, usually as long as they're accompanied by some good test scores. If you get flak from the registrar's office, go up the chain of command. The registrar is EXCELLENT at parroting the company line, but they often haven't got the slightest idea of what the school's policies for unusual cases may actually be.
