Usually not, but you have to pay attention. If the pay you get on January 3 is dated in December, and is not included in the "year to date" amount on the paystub you get on January 17, then the answer is yes. If the pay you get on January 3 is dated in January, and is included in the "year to date" amount on the paystub you get on January 17, then the answer is no.

Will depend on when the pay check has been dated for this purpose and time in your life. We can NOT try to make a good GUESS about this matter at this time in your life. When you do get paid January 3 it could be possible that that pay check will be dated by the December 31 last date of the the 2013 tax year for this purpose and time in your life.

You will not have income in 2013, so you will report it when you file your 2014 return in 2015. The income is taxable when you get your hands on it, not when you earn it.
