Yes. White or 'regular' bread is made with refined white flour. It's a simpler carbohydrate that it turned into glucose quicker by the body. So if you're diabetic especially it can trigger blood sugar spikes. Wheat bread is still a carbohydrate but it's a complex one. It's broken down slower into sugar by the body. Which minimizes blood sugar spikes. It has a lot to do with having more (retaining) their protein and fiber because of less processing.

Everything that isn't protein, fat or alcohol is a carbohydrate. So, all fruits, vegetables and grains, and foods derived from them, are carbohydrates.

Wheat, like all grains, is mostly carbohydrates. Whole grain is considered healthier than white processed flour because the whole grain requires more energy to convert into carbohydrates, and also still contains the bran where a lot of vitamins are contains. Anything made with wheat will therefore contain carbohydrates. That means ALL breads, pastries, cakes, cookies. It also includes soy sauce which contains wheat to help with the fermentation process.

Wheat bread or flour bread, whichever it is, will always be carbohydrates. This is because; white bread is made of refined flour while wheat bread is made of regular flour.
