that's because you must have been bending your knees a lot while playing football. I get that all the time too running and playing tennis. It just sore, exactly like a bicep would be sore after doing weights (if u get my drift lol) anyways, what you should do is rest (don't walk on it) and drink a protein shake or eat protein foods. Why? Because it is protein that helps in muscle and bone recovery. Protein is essential to heal muscle and bone, and will make the healing faster. good luck wit football :P
