the Citizen's Band is not a service for radio experimenters. modification of equipment is prohibited by law, you are expected to use only devices made for this purpose and meets the standards of your country.

that radio as roughly 20-30 years old... The UK CB community is currently awaiting for the Government to introduce legislation that will allow SSB transmissions on CB frequencies bringing us into line with the rest of the World and most of Europe... As usual the UK Government is too busy introducing new taxes and collecting revenue to be bothered about keeping radio enthusiasts up to date with the rest of the worldwide radio community... Not slow though in sending out officers though to prosecute you for transmitting on the frequencies and modes that the rest of the world are currently enjoying...
