It's an enlarged lymph node. Google it. It doesn't have to be removed. If you want it removed, you would need surgery and the doctor would just cut it out.

Sounds like a abscess or cyst & is infection caused by bad tooth? & can lead to VERY BAD problems if left untreated can spread from location neck / jaw to ears nose & throat but through sinus to brain almost always fatal heart & lungs are 15% fatal even with treatment & multiple major surgerys & months time Throat bad too You should get it checked out by doctor right away & if is found to be infection use extra caution to washing hands avoid pets & anything that could host parasites I had a bad tooth did not even know & since my immune system was down from fighting blood infection & work involvement archeology & digging contracted hookworms that stayed hidden like the tooth abscess & 8 months from thinking "its just a stupid cavity" & the lump on my neck" in grown hair or acne " now have amost all above problems & age 31 face a short chance to a very long recovery not impossible only a in grown hair but any infection =bad Get it looked at while still just a lump
