No on getting a diag book free which it wont help you at all since it isn't written in there what you need to do if your exhaust is glowing. you sort of have to have the know how to be able to read & go from there. It isn't written in any books on how to go about diagnosing a certain problem, etc. This is where the automotive knowledge comes in play & to fall back on your training, experiences & other car info. Usually if the exhaust is glowing, vacuum leak like a booster hose?? Has to be a very large vacuum leaking. Blue smoke is burning oil. I suggest you run the van to the GMC dealership. This is something you will not fix on your own if you don't work on them for a living

Glowing exhaust means you are running very rich and or have a blockage in the exhaust. Running rich for an extended period of time will plug up the cat converter which is the blockage that will cause things to glow and completely kill the performance of the engine. Free info is generally not worth much. Only possible exception would be once you know what has to be repaired you can search on a place like youtube and likely find a video of the replacement process. Alldata is a site that many shops use for information. You can get a one year subscription for one vehicle under $30.
