Protein powder is great and i use it myself everyday because it is a convenient, relatively inexpensive source of protein. I usually take mine in a shake after my workout. Although you should know that if you want to build muscle you need to be ingesting lots of protein in every meal you have during the day even if it's a rest day. You need to ingest at least 1g of protein per pound you weigh. so for me i have to eat at least 180g of protein a day so i split it up between 5-6 meals and ingest around 36g of protein in each meal. Good protein sources include eggs, chicken, lean beef, fish, milk, beans and whey protein which is basically filtered and dried milk, nothing magic. Good luck on your bodybuilding and remember good nutrition is just as important as how hard you train!
