Pretty much what Grr said. -Use wireless via router (and if needed, a wifi adapter for the new room) or -Run a cable from your router or gateway into the wall->ceiling->wall to the extra room or -You can try powerline adapters. This may not work if you have multiple circuits in the house. Also they CAN NOT be plugged in to surge protectors. They have to be plugged into the wall directly.
