While the computer is booting up you will see a brief message telling you a key to press to go into BIOS (sometimes called Settings or several other possible words). You will see this and must press it BEFORE Windows starts. If you are not quick enough, just reboot and try again. When you have got into BIOS, look around the menus for Boot Mode or Secure Boot, whatever HP chose to call it. Change the settings to Off, Disabled, Legacy, whatever they called it. Then Save Settings and Exit. After that, you should be able to install other OSes and get them to boot up. Check out this Youtube video, see ifit helps
