Actually, you can go as low as $200,000 if you don't mind buying used. (Check out the Bermudian Ketch) But it still takes a lot of skill to sail. And you NEED engines - most places where you would dock your boat require it. Trying to get through a harbor on just sailpower is dangerous to other boaters. Even back in the Age of Sail, they often used rowboats to maneuver the big ones in tight quarters. Why not start small. Get together with your friends and build a raft, and go down a river or across a lake? Learn to work together as a team, and have some fun.
