You must not be a real lover of coffee. It tastes best to me very fresh brewed, and the longer it sits there the worse it tastes--after 5 hours it's all murky and bitter tasting.

If you put it in a really good thermos right away then it's good for a couple of hours.If you leave it sitting on the warming element on the coffee maker then it'll just keep cooking and reducing.The flavours will keep intensifying and getting more and more bitter.After 20-30 minutes it's okay to let it go and make a new pot.Unless you're using a special blend coffee grounds are fairly inexpensive.
