Open your desktop picture in Paint (Start, Programs, Accessories). Choose the text feature, add text, save, or 'Save As' if you want the original to remain the same. Then in the drop down (file) menu, select 'Set as desktop background" Or you can right click any picture file and do the same things, "Open with" Paint:" and 'Set as desktop background" If you use typical Windows background pictures for your desktop, you can locate them at C: Windows /Web /Wallpaper and select the picture or pictures you use, then add text to them. XP/7/8 all in same location.
