First, you need to understand what "play" is about for a child. It's a very important part of learning. Here's some poems that might help you better understand what your daughter is doing when she plays with her toys: ms-about-the-value-of-play If you understand what she is learning, you can help her extend on her play and her learning. Here's some new activities you might want to try: Sprinkle some flour on a cookie sheet and write or draw in it with your fingers; spray shaving cream on the table and write or draw in it; look up a recipe for homemade playdough and make some with your daughter, then play with it together; go to your local library for story hour; have a shape hunt-make some shapes of cardboard (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval) and have a hunt to find things that match those shapes in your house; try some board games like Memory, Uno Moo, Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, etc. It's awesome that you are seeking new ways to interact constructively with your daughter! Try some of these ideas and see if they help!
