Watts equal volts X amps. 3,000 watts = 250 amps at 12 volts.

Try using Youtube in the car audio area,They have every car audio install known to man.Try (Installing a second battery) or (Alternator upgrade's) a video is worth a thousand word's.PS never trust a wise azz doctor.

Let's see f I can syphon through the 200 word sentence with 15 spelling mistakes. The amp only uses the current for very short bursts. You have a battery sitting on top of the system, as is were, and the alternator only needs to keep up with the average amount of current over a longer period of time. If, however, you are playing one continuous note at maximum power, then you will need a much larger source of power.

250 amp draw full power. you battery is good to 800 watts, so you would need 3 of them a good alt do the BIG 3 and use 0 gage for wire use bare metal for grounds hi out put alt may or may not be necessary.
