Did you really mean OVERheating light? That would be a RED warning light and when it is on, it means continuing to operate the vehicle could cause major engine damage and the risk of an underhood fire. I suspect you have the 3.4 liter engine, it is notorious for cylinder head gasket failure at 140,000 miles plus.
