Graduate school is just more time consuming and demanding than undergrad, and also you are now in a very different major that so it takes a little time to adjust. Just means you have to practice on the break to do better, while a 2.87 isn't the greatest gpa for the semester, it does show you did try for it to be near a 3.0. Good luck, and try again.
