As long as you're actually attentive and good at it, you should not have much trouble as long as you are willing to match the "look" a higher end restaurant wants (example: most places are not going to hire you if you have hideous ear plugs, lip piercings, facial tatts, and dreads no matter how good you are). Anywhere downtown on or right off Lamar are good (Uchiko, Wink, Austin Land & Cattle, etc.).
