Not at all. Many work from home, and almost never go any where unless they just want to go somewhere. Of course some clients may want to visit you, or have you come in person, but most of the time you can use email to communicate and send files. That makes this profession a bit risky, as anything that can be outsourced, probably will be outsourced, and done much more cheaply by someone in another country.

Probably not. Unless you are consulting clients which would be a step up from graphic design. I would say their is only a 5% chance you will have to travel. Probably less. You can always check out the job descriptions. Make a list of target companies and check out their job postings. Best of Luck!
