well, I think that a College degree is enough. The diploma is a bonus

Technically you don't even need high school diploma to be a commercial pilot BUT anyone hiring is going to look better on someone who has graduated from an aviation college programme OR has a college/university diploma/degree. along with the hours and type certifications. The further you move down the food chain the less stringent the qualifications become. To be honest IF I was someone doing the hiring I'd look more favourably on someone with a diploma from an aviation college or someone with a technical/engineering certificates.
